At the beginning of April, our good friend and colleague Sarah Crone found out that she had a shadow on her lung, and after a biopsy was faced with the news that she has a rare cancer called Thymic Carcinoma. Sarah had to start chemotherapy treatment almost straight away, and is currently half way through her treatment. This was particularly unfair for Sarah, as she has spent much of her time over the past year raising awareness and funding for Cancer Research UK on behalf of her sister, who has also been battling breast cancer, including taking part in a charity boxing match, which she trained really hard for! Thymic Carcinoma is thankfully rare in the UK, but as such, there is little awareness and support for those and their families going through it.

To support Sarah and others going through this illness, I will be doing the 10k run to raise money for Thymic UK Charity on behalf of Greenacre.

I have been training with my dog, Albie the Australian Shepherd, who has become my personal trainer, he is certainly keeping me fit! We run every morning before work over the fields where I live, and usually do around 3-4k, so 10k will be a challenge for me!
