Secondary cancer is when breast cancer cells spread to other parts of the body. It's currently incurable and approximately 1,000 people die from secondary breast cancer in the UK every month. Your gift will directly support vital research.

Story

As many if you know in December 2016 my mum was diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer. Initially her oncologist seemed positive and was hopeful that my mum could live well for at least another 10 years . Unfortunately her cancer had other ideas and none of the treatments were effective in keeping the cancer at bay 😠😢

As my mum's prognosis grew worse she decided to start colouring her hair lots of bright colours, as in her words "I'm not going to be here for my blue rinse". Despite her fun loving personality she would never have been brave enough to do this before and in October 2017 she had her hair dyed bright pink.

Sadly in January 2018 her health took a turn for the worse and due to several stays in hospital over the following months she was never really well enough to get her hair coloured again before she passed away in the June.

As the anniversary of her death comes round I will be dyeing my hair pink in remembrance of her and I ask everyone who loved and knew her to BE BRAVE & BE BOLD in her memory 💖

If you would could spare a pound or two for this brilliant charity that would be awesome too 👌

The charity was founded by a lady with Secondary Breast Cancer and is dedicated to making women and men living with secondary breast cancer count.

They aim to do this by raising funds to support research specifically into secondary breast cancer. The research will work towards extending and improving the quality of life for patients battling against this currently treatable yet incurable disease.
