This October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I’ll be walking 100 Miles to raise money for Breast Cancer Now – the UK’s leading breast cancer charity.

During those 31 days, breast cancer will take almost 1,000 lives in the UK. They are mums and daughters, friends and colleagues. Someone loved. Someone lost.

"I walk because I miss them."

I miss my nan, Mudder, who died from breast cancer at 66. I miss my Auntie Sandra, who died from the same disease at just 56.

Breast cancer stole years from their lives and precious moments from everyone who loved them. What they endured was cruel, and no family should have to watch someone they love go through it.

This October, I'm walking 100 miles for Breast Cancer Now because I want to help create a future where fewer families experience that loss. A future where more people survive, more memories are made, and more loved ones get to stay where they belong.
