My sister (and best friend) Veronica was just 43 when she died in 2005. She was a gifted writer, an entrepreneur, loved her netball, and enjoyed a busy social life. She was funny, smart, beautiful and really had an energy that attracted people to her. She is hugely missed by her children, her husband, her family and many many friends. This challenge is in memory of her.

Anyone that knows me well will know that running is not my thing, though I do try and keep fit. I started a training program in April with Emily Thorpe, my running buddy, and before that had run no more than 3 miles, and only on a couple of occasions. This marathon is way outside my comfort zone and will hopefully raise some money for a brilliant cause, if it doesn't kill me in the process! Nick must be fed up with me moaning about my various ailments all the time (oh how those knees are aching!) but I'm determined to finish, hopefully before they've taken all the markers away! It is actually laughable to most people the thought of me jogging/staggering/falling a marathon but I'm so close now, I just want to do it and get my life back! Wish me luck x
