Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

This page has been set up in memory of my late husband Matty Newall, who passed away on the 27th April 2008.  Matty was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in September 2007, 6 weeks after our 3rd child Scarlett was born. Initially Matty was only given a few months to live but through the chance given by The Christie to receive chemotherapy, Matty actually went on to live a further 6 months than expected.

The Christie do some amazing work day in day out through research and the care they provide. I would like to help raise as much money as possible to help them continue this work and I am grateful to all donations that are pledged.

The first three targets I set out to achieve have been smashed and this is not including all the other just giving pages out there supporting this cause (in total exceeding £185,000!!!)

2018 Saw....

The 6th Matty Newall Cocktail Ball held on the 12th May 2018 at The Chester Race Course. This was another huge success and raised over £17,000. Thank you to everyone who came and supported this event.

In addition, in June 2018 we were kindly given the opportunity to do the bucket collection after the races at Chester Race Course. It was a glorious day for weather and generosity and we raised over £3500

I have just completed my 2nd London Marathon, which I ran with my husband Chris. The Marathon fell the day after Matty's 11 anniversary since he passed away and exactly 10 years to the day I ran it for the first time. What a way it was to remember and celebrate Matty's life. The kids had a great time supporting us and we updated our original banner from 10 years ago and the kids, family and friends were clearly visible at miles 13 and 22 with the banner on proud display and I'm pleased to say it got plenty of airing on TV.  Although I pushed my body to its absolute limits and was struggling towards the end, it was still one of the best days of my life.

Next up for me is the Great North Run....where it all began 11 years ago. I've only missed 2 of these runs in the last 11 years and this will be my 9th time running it.

I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last 11 years. I could not have achieved half the things I have since Matty passed away without this.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: The Christie will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Please donate generously.

Many thanks for your support.
