Mid-Surrey Link of Chernobyl Children's Life Line Summer 2015 visit · 26 January 2015

Chernobyl Children's Lifeline has rebranded as CCLL - The Helping Hand for Ukraine and we prioritize help for children and their families in the northern areas of the country who are suffering from the ongoing conflict. We carry out our work without any political affiliation or bias.

Story

Mid-Surrey Link of Chernobyl Children's Life Line has been bringing children to Mid-Surrey from Belarus and latterly Ukraine for many years - to escape the horrors of the radioactive fallout from the the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.  The children stay for four weeks with local volunteer host families to breath clean air, eat uncontaminated food and allow their bodies to have respite from the contamination they experience in their homelands which was as a direct result of the fallout.  We rely on the generosity of the host and support families, local dentists, opticians, retailers, local companies and visitor attractions, without whom we could not achieve our aims.  Travel and visa costs have to be covered, clothes provided and other costs met.  Your help is greatly appreciated.
