Back in 2021 four of us (Rob, Lewis, Steve & Dave) decided to raise money for Acorns by walking to all of their hospices (Walsall, Worcester, Selly Oak) starting in Walsall and ending back at Walsall in under 30 hours.  This was a continual walk with no breaks for sleep and we managed to complete the challenge in just over 29 hours.

On Saturday 3rd June 2023,, we have decided that we are going to do it again, but the opposite way around this time AND with another walker added (Andy).  The route this time will start at Walsall then head to Selly Oak, then off to Worcester, and then the long drag back to Walsall to finish.  The biggest difference this time is that we have challenged ourselves to do this in 24 hours (or less!), so taking over 5 hours off our last attempt.

We will be starting at midnight and then finish at midnight the following day, hoping to be back before the clock expires.

Distance walked last time - 116.00km (72.07 miles) - it will be pretty similar this time.  It is gruelling, and your donations really make a difference to us when we are battling through the tough times out on the tarmac.

There will be various different events held to contribute towards the fundraising through 2022 into 2023, with the walk being the conclusion of the whole fundraising effort.  Events will be announced in due course.

With the help of lots of you donating last time we went well past our initial target and the amount we raised is the target set on the page now to at least be equalled (hopefully...) if not smashed.  

We are aiming big and £5,000 is the figure we want to work towards.  Can we do it?  Who knows.

The walk was completed in 23 hours and 5 minutes, meaning that our goal was achieved.

We have now managed to total up all payments and with Gift Aid included the total amount we have raised is an incredible £7613.97!
