Dave's Midsummer Munro Madness
Fundraising for World Land Trust
WLT is an international conservation organisation that takes action to save rainforest and other wildlife habitats. Supported by Sir David Attenborough and working with local organisations in Central and South America, Asia and Africa, WLT has helped protect over 500,000 acres of wildlife habitats.
The Midsummer Munro takes place in Surrey and involves a half-marathon distance of just over 13 miles with the 'madness' being the 'munro' element - 3,000 feet of 'climb' over the length of the course, equivalent to climbing a munro (a mountain in Scotland of 3,000 feet or more in height). So it ain't gonna be quick and it ain't gonna be easy, and therefore any sponsorship incentive I can have to get round will be very much appreciated.

Update: race completed on Saturday, and what an evil 13 miles it was. Almost no flat parts, having to run twice up 600 steps cut into a steep slope (and 380 steps elsewhere), leaping fallen trees on small dirt tracks through woods, and some slopes so steep you couldn't run down them, let alone back up them. I now feel I have earned the right to ask for some sponsorship. But the views, support and organisation were great.
