Cats Protection rescues and rehomes unwanted and abandoned cats, and promotes responsible cat ownership. Our work has three main objectives:
-
To rescue stray and unwanted cats and kittens, and rehabilitate and rehome them where possible
-
To encourage the neutering of cats and kittens
-
To inform the public on the care of cats and kittens
The Mid Warwickshire branch of Cats Protection covers Leamington, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and all the surrounding villages (postcodes CV8, CV31, CV32, CV33, CV34, CV35, CV37 and CV47). Founded in 1978, the branch is run by a group of volunteers who have a common goal of helping cats and kittens.
The cats and kittens that we rescue come into our care and will stay with us until they are fit and well and ready for a new home. They may be with us for just a week or two but it is often much longer, particularly if they are injured or ill. Before we rehome a cat or kitten, we make sure they are:
-
fully health checked
-
blood tested for FeLV & FIV
-
up-to-date with their flea and worming treatment
-
neutered (if over 4 months of age)
-
vaccinated, with at least their first vaccination
-
microchipped
-
homed with 4 weeks free Petplan insurance cover
Whilst the cats and kittens are in our care, we need to provide food and litter and also pay their vets fees. These costs can total thousands of pounds each month.
Please help support our rescue work and donate now. You can donate as little or as much as you like, every £1 received is much appreciated and helps us with our continuing rescue work.
Thank you.
