Lambeth and Croydon Foodbank exists to ensure no-one in Lambeth and Croydon goes hungry, while working towards a community where no-one needs to access a food bank. Last year we provided over 27,000 people with emergency food parcels

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in memory of Miguel Dos Santos.

We have set up a just giving page for gifts rather than flowers in honour of Miguel and in support of Oasis Foodbank which Miguel had planned to volunteer for’

Miguel was a fabulous young man who had a zest for life, who has gone from our sight but never from our hearts. He was such a wonderful person, selfless, full of positivity, kindness and showed compassion to those he met. He will be hugely missed by his parents, his partner Paul, siblings and friends.

Oasis Waterloo foodbank exists to ensure that no one in Waterloo goes hungry. For people on low incomes, a crisis redundancy, benefit delay, illness or even an unexpected bill can mean going hungry.

Every day parents skip meals to feed their children, and people are forced to choose between paying the rent or eating. They are part of The Trussell Trust, the UK-wide foodbank network. To identify those in need, they work with local frontline care professionals, such as schools, charities, housing associations, GPs, health visitors, and churches. During the COVID-19 pandemic, referrals to the foodbank are up 135%, and they are providing food to hundreds of families each week. They are currently offering a delivery service to every person who is referred to their foodbank. This new operating method comes at an additional cost to them, so they are very thankful for any donations to ensure non-one in Waterloo goes hungry.
