Last month, Lebanese-born British singer Mika returned to the nation of his birth with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the BBC. There he met with a number of Syrian refugee families and learned how winter will be especially tough for them. Many are living in insulated garages, basements or unfinished buildings, animal stalls or other flimsy makeshift structures.
Mika supports the UNHCR’s #WarmTheirHearts campaign, which aims to reach 20,000 refugee families and the most vulnerable Lebanese who need assistance to keep warm and dry.
To celebrate its 9th anniversary, Mika Fan Club is taking up Mika's cause and helping raise funds for and awareness of the UNHCR's campaign.
You can show your support by making a donation to the UNHCR through this Mika Fan Club JustGiving page. And for each 5 Euro donation you make, your name will be entered once into a random drawing for one of two special prizes! (For example, if you donate 5 Euros your name will be entered into the drawing one time; if you donate 15 Euros, your name will be entered three times; and so on...)
And just what are the prizes? Each prize consists of a beautifully designed, special edition poster from Mika's concert last year in Como, Italy, with the "Affinis Consort" Symphonic Orchestra (see the gallery for a photo), signed and personalized by Mika himself, with a 2CD Special Edition version of the album "No Place in Heaven" that includes several bonus tracks PLUS 14 tracks from the concert that Mika performed with the L'Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal last year.
