Chiltern Challenge 2019 · 27 July 2019 to 28 July 2019 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am taking on the Chiltern Challenge in my father-in-law's memory and raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. I will be attempting to walk 100km, without stopping to sleep, over a surprisingly bumpy route that takes me from near our home to near where my father-in-law lived. The Alzheimer’s Society is one of the charities chosen by his family and exists to research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention.  They are also striving to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
