Story

Back in 2005, I didn't even think about charities, let alone, need one. Then in October 2005 an event enriched my mind on how much we need charities.
My son, Liam and daughter Megan were born at 25 weeks.
In the early days of their life, Liam was doing fine with all attention directed at Megan. She was very poorly and needed numerous operations. Many a time we thought that this could be our last day with her but Megan is strong and overcome everything that was thrown at her.
As for Liam, we marveled at how well he was doing, coming off life support and going onto bi-pap.
Then, one day, we where woken by a call saying that Liam had deteriorated and blood pressure had dropped. Later that day, we switched off his life support. I was devestated, my little Liam had gone.
Megan is now 12 and has cerebral palsy. In them 12 years, we have been touched by many charities and I just want to give what I can for what they have given us, a happy life for my daughter.
I can't think of a more worthy charity than Middlesbrough and Teesside philanthropic society who look after many of our teessides great charities.
With this being my 10th anniversary and last walk, I am hoping to make it the biggest and the best.
I have organised bands to play at the Whitby bandstand to welcome us all in and raise further funds.
