Cycle from Paris to Ipswich · 27 May 2017

We are East Anglian Air Ambulance. A charity providing lifesaving critical care, 24/7, every day of the year across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Whether by air or road, we’re there for the most seriously ill and injured, when every second counts.

Story

Myself and my adult children are cycling from Paristo Ipswich in 6 days from May 27 to June 4 this year over a total of 360 milesto celebrate my 70th birthday, using normal hybrid cycles. The route will gofrom Paris via Calais along the route of the Western Front from the First WorldWar. I has a Trench Map that my Grandfather used while serving on the Armyin October 1916 at a village called Hebuterne on the Somme. My grandfathersurvived, but they will go to see where he served, and pay tribute to him andhis colleagues who did not come back.

We will be raising money for the East Anglia AirAmbulance, with a target of £3,500, and that's where your support will beinvaluable. The sum is the cost of a single flight for the Air Ambulance, whichis a vital back-up to those who travel our roads, or who live and work in theregion, where road transport can be slow and time can be critical. Please donatewhatever you can through the Just Giving page to help each the target, and make the ride even more worthwhile.
