ShelterBox Kokoda Trek 2022 · 26 November 2020
I'm walking the Kokoda Track in aid of ShelterBox Australia because I believe that shelter is a human right.
Every year, hundreds and thousands of people, often with no warning, lose their homes, their possessions and their livelihoods. Entire communities are shattered by natural disaster and humanitarian crisis. ShelterBox Australia provides emergency shelter and vital supplies to support these communities so that no family has to go without the most basic human need, shelter. Since ShelterBox began in 2000, it has responded to earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, landslides, typhoons and conflict, delivering emergency humanitarian aid to communities in need.ShelterBoxes and ShelterKits contain the tools to transform lives and rebuild communities. The work is fuelled by an impatience to reach more people, to empower them to transform their lives, to build a world where no family is left without shelter.
