I dislike walking. Particularly on anything that vaguely resembles a hill. I'm not a fan of exercise. I hate early mornings. I eat a lot of chocolate, and drink a lot of full fat coke. I enter the ballot for marathons in the hope of not getting in.
Despite those facts, myself and a band of Universal colleagues will be taking part in The National Three Peaks Challenge for what is a very worthy cause.
We will be climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft)
We are indoorsy film people, more cinema-dwellers than mountain-conquerors, but this is for an amazing charity...
The Prince's Trust
"We believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. So, we help 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives.
Many of the young people we help are in, or leaving, care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health issues, or have been in trouble with the law.
Our free programmes give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. We help them develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation so they can continue to dream big."
