Our aim is to provide opportunities for the future to children who have lost a close family member through violent crimes. We look at providing grants or services to aid learning and employment prospects.

Story

In September 2012 PC's Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone of Greater Manchester Police were tragically killed whilst responding to a burglary call.

Members of Devon and Cornwall Police will be taking part in the 'Run to Remember' to raise money for the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund, running 250 miles each over 125 days. We will be starting on 1st December 2013 and finishing on 4th April 2014 when Bryn Hughes, Nicola's father, will start his North Pole Marathon.

Money will be raised for Victim Support, Care of Police Survivors (COPS) and the North West Police Benevolent Fund.

These charities have been selected by Bryn Hughes as he feels that they have all proved invaluable in helping his family deal with the aftermath of Nicola's death.
