Story
On 15th July 2023, I married the love of my life Sarah. Sarah has Cerebral Palsy and has benefited from charities similar to Whizz-Kids. Sarah and I have always worked as team throughout our relationship and supported each other with our different strengths and weaknesses. I am running the London Marathon to give back to charity on behalf of Sarah who has been the beneficiary of support during her childhood which has helped her to be independent. I have seen and know first hand the struggles of living with a disability and how much of a difference equipment can make to someone's quality of life. For many people with disabilities without wheelchairs, walking aids or any other equipment the smallest tasks can become very difficult. I hope raise enough money to make a difference to someone's life and have a fun time raising awareness in the process!
Over 75,000 young people in the UK need to use a wheelchair to be mobile. Unfortunately, they cannot access the equipment that meets their needs through local services. We're here for all of them. Whizz Kidz are the UK’s leading charity supporting young wheelchair users up to 25 years old. They empower young wheelchair users with the equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences they need to take an active role in society. The Whizz Kidz goal is to create a movement for progress towards a more open and accessible world.
