2pm Tuesday 27th Jan: Sitting on my bed in one of the Cardiology wards in Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton I knew it wasn't going to be good news - the previous day Urology has come looking for me to discuss "some alarming findings" on my MRI scan but I was down having a Pacemaker fitted. The Doctor pulled the curtains round and sat on the bed. "On a scale of one to five with five being the highest your score is five. It is highly likely that you have Prostate Cancer and it has spread to your lymph nodes and possibly your bones". So out of the blue in just a few days I had to have a pacemaker fitted and got the great news from Urology - great start to 2026!

So I'm determined to spread the word - even if you feel fine and don't have any symptoms get yourself checked. It's not nice having a finger shoved up where the sun don't shine but I'm sure it's a lot better than having to go through what lies ahead for me. I'm going to have as much fun as I can along the way doing fund raising activities so climb on board and join me for the journey!!!

With that in mind I’m taking on the 56 Miles in February challenge with my family, for PCR to help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.
