Story
Thank you for visiting our wedding gift page in aid of Dreamflight.
Dreamflight was born in 1986 when Patricia Pearce and Derek Pereira came up with the idea of a special holiday to bring some joy and happiness into troubled young lives. It took an awful lot of doing, but their vision and persistence paid off when, in November 1987, a Boeing 747 full of 288 sick children and adult helpers flew off to Florida for five magical days of fun and laughter. The original Dreamflight was only intended to be a 'one-off' trip, but the '87 trip was such a success that it has been an annual event ever since.
Every October, 192 seriously sick and disabled children board a British Airways 'Dreamflight' 747 at London Heathrow bound for Orlando, Florida. They are accompanied by escorts, doctors, nurses and other non medical volunteers who have spent the previous year working hard for Dreamflight. They are about to experience the holiday of a lifetime!!
In lieu of receiving wedding presents Mike and I would like to help send a child on this holiday of a lifetime.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Dreamflight will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
However, if you prefer you can send your donation to us by post (cheques made payable to Dreamflight) - address on the Wedding Invitation.
Many thanks for your support.
Love Pam and Mike.
