Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money in memory of my dad, Roger, who died of cancer in 2009. Macmillan Cancer Support provided my parents with wonderful support through the toughest times. I wanted to do something to help them continue that work for others going through the same. He was a keen cyclist and it seems a fitting way to remember a wonderful man.
I made it round the 86 mile course in 6hrs and 2 mins. It was a shame that it had to be shortened, but the rain was unbelievable - the worst came as thousands of us were stood in Richmond Park, after an accident up the road. 30 mins of waiting as the heavens emptied was enough! But the ride was great fun, and I would love to do it again.
Thank your for supporting me. It was a great incentive to train hard enough to make it round in a reasonable time. Next year I hope to do 100 miles in something like the same time...
