Story
Hello,
Manchester Street Poem is a co-produced art collective whose works reflect the personal experiences Manchester's marginalised communities.
Workshops are the backbone of their ongoing activities and consist of exercises around creative writing and artistic expression, all with a keen focus on boosting self-esteem and creating meaningful connections. During each session the group focus on a different topic (friendship, community, hope etc.) and produce personal and inspirational quotes presented as individual works of art.
In being able able to meet physically, spend time with supportive people, and share a cuppa, laughter and conversation became the real benefits of being part of the ‘MSP Family’. Everyone knows this is a compassionate safe space, where the ethos is one of positivity, care and good mental health.
I have been fortunate to get to know this amazing group of people over the past 5 or 6 years and would love to help them raise enough money to pay the rent on their workshop space for a year. This would mean so much to them and well worth the laugh/pain me doing my best Simon Pegg "Run Fatboy Run" impression.
I'm running this with my friend Leo - who is significantly younger, fitter and faster than me - but I'm relying on him to be the hare to my (aging) greyhound!

PS - MSP are still waiting for their Gift Aid status to be confirmed by JustGiving. Therefore you may not be asked about Gift Aid in the usual way if/when making a donation. I am told this can be dealt with retrospectively, once all the official dots have been connected.
