Event: Tour of the TAP, from 13 September 2023 to 22 September 2023
In memory of John Hopkins
Cure Leukaemia is excited to introduce our newest cycling event to our portfolio - the Tour of the TAP. The event will see 15 keen cyclists tackling over 1,000 miles across Britain in 10 days.

Story

Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.

My father died of Leukaemia in 2017 and one of my managers died of the same disease the same year. This fund raising and that of others will make a massive difference and not only help find a cure but help large numbers of people survive the disease until there is a cure

I am the Principal and CEO of the largest college in the region and will no doubt be the oldest cyclist taking part in the challenge. Not what most people expect from a public figure!

I will go through the discomfort and effort of training and taking in part in the challenge all I ask is that you support me and donate as much as you are able. Every penny donated will go to the charity.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 30m, access to potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials, with plans to fund a paediatric network on the way.
