A few months back I signed up for what was meant to be my first ever half-marathon. As it happens, I found myself at another half-marathon on September 24th, so this is going to be my second one in 2 weeks!! You can count on me to make it through the finish line :-) You can also count on my feet, legs, and whole body being in pain for a few days afterwards... But its an exhilarating experience!

 

I'm now asking you to help me and support the Charity I've selected to fundraise for, Build Africa. They combine learning and earning opportunities which offer children and their families long-term and sustainable solutions to poverty. 

 

I'm only looking to raise £250, which really shouldn't be too difficult, though I haven't left much time to do this!! Thats where you come in ;-D

In Uganda, on the EARN side, just £5 is enough to supply a start-up kit for a local savings group - this would form the foundation of a sustainable community microfinance programme which could enable them to make local investments and start small businesses. On the LEARN side, £5 can provide 10 much needed textbooks to students in a school built and funded by Build Africa.

 

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
