Story
This fundraiser is incredibly personal to our whole Souter family.
My brother, Graeme, has been through so much over the past year with head and neck cancer. He’s faced months of gruelling treatment and isolation, missing out on Christmas and so many other moments.
In spite of receiving a terrible diagnosis, Graeme continues to fight with unbelievable courage. Just recently, in an unforgettable and emotional day, he married his amazing partner Kate, the day was a celebration of love, strength, and a reminder of the moments that really matter.
Throughout this journey, Macmillan Cancer Support has been there for Graeme and for us as a family offering not just expert care, but compassion, understanding, and guidance at the toughest times.
To give something back, our family and many of our friends have taken on a big challenge together. In September 2025, we’ll be tackling the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike, a 26-mile trek to raise money for Macmillan.
We’re aiming to raise £250 each, which could fund a Macmillan Nurse for a whole day. These nurses are incredible, giving people living with cancer and their loved ones the medical, practical, and emotional support they need.
Right now, there are over 3 million people in the UK living with cancer. Macmillan’s mission is to make sure no one has to face it alone, but they can only do that with donations from people like us.
If you can, please support our fundraising team. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference, not just to us and Graeme, but to countless others who need Macmillan’s help.
Thank you for helping Graeme and our family to support this amazing charity.
