London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
***UPDATE***
Due to postponement of events in 2020, our events were rolled into 2021 and we will be running the Race to the Kings event in June 18th (Race to the Tower was cancelled for 2021 - gutted!!) and London Landmarks Half on August 1st.
We have been training consistently since Christmas and ..shock horror... we’ve been hugely enjoying it. To have the opportunity to get out of the house and run during lockdown has been such a gift. It’s kept us sane, fit and strong. There have been times when it’s been really tough, juggling family and work and active husbands... but we’ve stuck with it and our runs are such a highlight of the week. We’re amazed that we are yet to run out of things to talk about...especially when we run 3-4 times a week together!!
Thanks to everyone for supporting us - let’s do this 2021!!! .

Why on earth would anyone voluntarily embark on running/walking a 53 mile route along the hilly trails?! At what point did committing to months of training in the dark, in the rain, on the hills, on the streets seem like a good idea? What on earth are we doing? And why?
It didn't take Kate too much effort to convince Tess to join her for the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 29 March 2020. However, not content with taking on her first ever half marathon, Tess joked that she'd rather do an ultramarathon as Kate couldn't make her run it all...funny joke. Until Kate agreed they should do that too. So before anyone could change their mind, this fundraising page was set up.....and now NO ONE can back out!
So what is motivating us to push beyond our limits with this challenge?
Meningitis is a truly devastating disease. It strikes quickly and often leaves people with life-long effects, like hearing loss and amputations. For some, it’s deadly. It can take hold so quickly, it's terrifying.
Meningitis Now is a charity that is working for a future where no-one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.
The charity works really hard to support families who have been affected by the disease and also continues to raise awareness of the disease - no one thing can prevent meningitis so it is important to understand the signs and symptoms to help you protect your family.
Across our little gang of runners, we have witnessed firsthand the horror of meningitis and so we are going to do all we can to raise money to help the Meningitis Now team continue their great work.
If you want to know more about the charity, the work they do and find resources to help you spot meningitis, visit https://www.meningitisnow.org/
