Story
Some people may have thought that after 3 mountains, sideways rain and a broken down van, we would call it a day. They would be wise to think that, and yet, here we are.
On the 16th April Tom Rooney, Sean Canavan, Dario Stevenson, Joe Biswell and Yodi Adams will be running the Manchester Marathon in memory of our friend Andy. So far we have collectively covered 650km as part of our build up for it.
It is no secret for those that knew Andy that he adored running.
We joined a running club at the Bedford Athletic Stadium one evening when we were kids, we couldn’t hack it but he just kept running, and running, and running.
When news of Andy’s passing was shared on social media there were comments of “Andy the runner”- the marathon was the obvious choice for our next fundraising event.
Andrew passed away in 2019 after a battle with his mental health. A battle sounds trite, given that anyone who has experienced poor mental health knows the impossible places you can find yourself. Andy may not be here any more but his memory will never be forgotten, and we will continue to raise money for MIND UK to do our bit in ensuring those that need help can receive the help.
And this time Andy, we will keep running, and running, and running.
