We will do whatever it takes to help you live life as fully as you can

Story

In February 2017, my mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The consultants informed us the cancer was at stage 4 and my mum was given six months to live.

We are currently supporting my mum through chemotherapy and the treatment is helping to keep the cancer under control. We very much hope she will live to a year and possibly beyond.

It’s a daily struggle that is made all the more bearable by the compassion and kindness of the Macmillan nurses. They’re always there for my mum – be it in person or on the other end of the phone. It’s a truly valuable service and a service that deserves all the help and support possible.

I see my mum suffer. I see her in pain, exhausted, drained and being forced to her limits, and I see her refuse to give up. I see my mum pushing on for me and my family no matter how tired or broken she might feel and I feel like the least I can do is push myself with this challenge.

Now at this stage let me tell you that I have never run before. This will be my first ever marathon, from zero to 26 miles eeeekkkk!! A massive personal challenge which I have no doubt will push me to the very limits of my endurance - both physically and mentally.

I am a little nervous and excited at the same but I know its all for such an incredible cause, for my mum and for all the families that are fighting the apparent finality and helplessness of that diagnosis. I will continue to run with fight and determination for those who can't whilst fundraising along the way.

Of the many traits I share with my mum, a steely, stubborn determination is right there at the top of the list. Once I've set my mind on something, nothing and no one will stop me, and I am going to complete this marathon!!

Since her diagnosis my mum always says she refuses to die, well I will refuse to give up and I’m going to cross the finish line. I want to make my mum proud and I know how proud she will be of my for doing this for her and Macmillan.

Thank you for visiting my justgiving page. Any donation is much appreciated and will go a long way. No one should face cancer alone. Thank you so much for your support.
