Volunteering at the Rosie May Home · 10 April 2015

Set up in memory of Rosie May Storrie, age 10, who was brutally murdered in 2003. The Rosie May Foundation is a little charity with a BIG vision committed to creating a living legacy for children, especially girls, giving them a future that Rosie May was denied. "Make A Difference Together"

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I knew Rosie May from a young age, performing together at the same dance school, before her tragic death in 2003. Therefore, the Rosie May Memorial Fund has always been a cause that is very close to me.

In August, I am travelling to Sri Lanka to volunteer at the Rosie May Home, an orphanage providing 'a safe and loving home for orphaned and abandoned girls and aims to empower them to strive for a brighter and more equable future'- one that Rosie May was tragically denied. I am fundraising to support this wonderful orphanage which has changed the lives of many young girls.

'The volunteer programme simultaneously aims to give the children the opportunity to develop their English language skills and the volunteers an enriching and challenging experience both at the Rosie May Home and at our community projects in Sri Lanka'.

Since I was a child I have watched the charity grow as well as watching the orphanage develop therefore, I am grateful to have the opportunity to visit the orphanage myself and help make a difference.

Any donations to help support this wonderful cause would be greatly appreciated!
