Story
As some of you know, and some of you probably don’t, over 15 years ago I was told I had a rare form of leukaemia. Today 12 more children will be told they have cancer. Same as yesterday, and same as tomorrow. It breaks my heart. When I was told, mine and my families whole world was turned upside down and to this day I can’t talk about it without getting emotional. So here I am, over 10 years in remission talking about it and running a marathon. Why? Well, I’m still trying to figure that bit out... 😂
When people ask why I’m running the marathon for CLIC Sargent I often don’t know where to begin. They provide such valuable support for over 7,000 families every year which I experienced first hand all that time ago. Whether it’s Home from Homes, financial support or home nurses, it’s these little things that help families get through the toughest time of their lives. So there’s no question really.
I’ve never trained so hard and whatever the weather, I’m out there running. My legs are constantly aching, I am living and breathing this marathon so please, give whatever you can, I would be grateful forever.
