Bath Half Marathon 2018 · 4 March 2018 ·
Tilly and Emily’s brother Charlie was first diagnosed with M.E. aged 12 years after a bad winter of illness and appendicitis. He has struggled with this illness for 6 years and he is now 18 and he still suffers from symptoms which have blighted his teenage years.
Tilly herself had M.E. for three years after a bout of flu and again her life and our family’s life was totally turned upside down by the diagnosis. She took three years to return to full time education and a vibrant social life. She is feeling strong and energetic now and would like to run for all those children still struggling with the symptoms of M.E. and especially for her brother.
Emily has watched how M.E. has affected our family’s life for the last 6 years and she has always been an amazing sister, keeping spirits high , and being very supportive of her siblings. She is extremely proud that her sister can join her on the run.
We would like to fundraise for the charity that has helped support parents/ carers/ young people and children through difficult journeys with this illness.
We hope to raise more awareness of M.E. and it’s impact on the lives of children , teens and their families.
