Over the course of 2018, Ellie will be competing in several events and challenges to raise money for Dementia UK and Alzheimers Society.

The 'peak' of the fundraising will be in July, when a team of 30 friends and family will be aiming to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks; in a day and in aid of Dementia UK. 

Admiral Nurses provide the specialist dementia support that families need.When things get challenging or difficult, our nurses work alongside people with dementia, and their families: giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline–it helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear. I hope that in the future, every person who suffers with Dementia, will have some form of specialist access to care and support. Not all of them do. Nurses working within homes are doing a great job, but there is a lack of specialist care offered.

Events Ellie will be taking part in:

Lightwater Valley 10k, Ryedale 5k, York 5k series, 5k night orienteering event,Great North Half Marathon, Helmsley Splash and Dash (20 lengths and 2,000m sprint), Yorkshire Warrior 10k, Stride for Survival 10k, Asda Foundation 10k, Coast to Coast bike ride, Three Peaks in a day. One week fell run challenge: Old Man of Coniston (6 mile fell run), Wasdale to Honister (17km fell run), Loughrigg Tarn – Elter Water (7km fell run), Duddon Valley fell route run, Torver and Walna Scar fell run.
