London to Brighton Cycle 2018 · 16 September 2018 ·

In September, a super team of Leicester's Hospitals Neonatal and Maternity staff got on their bikes, took on the London-to-Brighton cycling challenge and totally smashed it!

Story

I have been wanting to cycle London-Brighton for a long time, but couldn't find the courage to do so (54 miles!!). However, after I discovered that my colleagues at University Hospitals of Leicester were riding to raise money for the maternity and neonatal departments, I was determined to help them out.

After working at UHL for two years, I have seen the amazing work that obstetricians, midwives, neonatal doctors and all the support staff do to help our unwell and extremely preterm babies. There are a huge variety of reasons that babies are born unwell or preterm but what is common to all is that they require intensive and highly specialised care.

Please help our charity raise money for our departments so that we may continue to provide high-quality care for our little patients!
