For those of you who may not know me, my name is David and I build “Stadiums for Ants” creating miniature model stadiums of famous sports grounds from around the world.  The time has come to build the one and only Theatre of Dreams, Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium. The real Theatre Of Dreams is said to be the largest football stadium in the UK, and the 11thlargest in Europe and I am currently putting the final touches to this piece, shrinking the building to 1:1500 scale to create the smaller replica.

As an Architect and sports enthusiast I am so excited to build this iconic stadium giving fans across the world the chance to win this special one-of a kind piece whilst helping to raise vital funds for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.  As a hospital treating 276,000 patients a year and I have chosen to support their Therapeutic Play Project which raises funds to purchase essential play resources such as toys, games, books and computer games which help support and distract patients during their stay and rehabilitation at the hospital.  For most children visiting hospital, it can be a daunting experience, meeting doctors and nurses in an unfamiliar and clinical environment. Projects such as this supported by the charity, help create a less clinical environment ensuring that patients and their families feel welcome and enjoy a comfortable atmosphere during the most stressful of times.
