When a heart stops beating, so many hearts are broken. My heart broke into a million pieces on 21 August 2014 when Andy's heart stopped beating at 10.07am. I've slowly been mending it ever since as I know many of you have too (our friends and family).
For those of you who know me, you know I'm not a natural runner and as you'll see in the photo Andy was always encouraging me to do my best. He may not be here, but you know I'm one determined person (these days because of the courage my friends and family give me), and will be giving it everything I have and so much more on Sunday 23 April 2017 to run the London Marathon in Andy's memory. Team Andy (and Mini Team Andy - just me) has been one of my life savers over the last 2 years and 8 months.
Andy was a numbers man as we all know, and on 23 April 2017, it will have been 976 days since his heart stopped beating. I know you have given me and Team Andy huge support over the last 2 years, and this is the BIG one… this is the one that's going to take my all. Please help put the wind behind me by supporting me to keep others' hearts beating, so their loved ones don't have to count the days without them.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
Thank you dear friends. My heart is mending because of you.
