Bookmark Reading is a literacy charity with a mission to create flexible volunteering at the heart of our communities, to help children to develop the reading skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. It is a shocking statistic that even today, over 200,000 children in England leave primary school every year unable to read to the expected standard. These children often struggle for the rest of their lives. Poor literacy can lead to limited job prospects, poor health, low self-esteem, and reduced life expectancy. With your support, we can help as many children as possible to build the futures they deserve. 

On Saturday 18th May, I will be joining the Bookmark team and its supporters to tackle 5 of England's toughest peaks, including its highest - Scafell Pike. Ascending over 3,000 feet and covering over 14 miles in a single day, this is going to be no walk in the park especially for me whose only form of exercise day to day is a brisk power walk/mad dash for the train to work! I would be delighted to receive a donation, however big or small, in support of the above. Thank you :-)
