I have decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK as this way the donations can be used for fighting any number of different cancers. Over a span of years I have lost members of my family and friends through a variety of forms of this horrid disease and several more have been seriously affected by it.Three years ago I needed major surgery for endometrial cancer; luckily for me it was caught early meaning I needed no further treatment just regular follow up appointments for five years.

I feel I very much want to raise money for those less fortunate than me, but there is no pressure whatsoever.

If you are unable to sponsor me all I ask is that you spare me a thought on Sunday 27 October as I pound those ten miles around the roads in Portsmouth!
