Miriam Kidane is raising money for Mellon Educate (UK)

Story

Hey, mim here :)

In November, as one of the Mellon Educate volunteers, I'll be taking part in an amazing trip to South Africa. We'll be building and refurbishing schools to benefit over 100,000 children get the education they deserve.

This is a really phenomenal charity, set up by an Irish philanthropist, Niall Mellon, in 2002, the charity has already built 25,000 homes in some of the poorest communities in Eastern Cape, South Africa over the past 13 years. This project has already housed over 125,000 people! Now, the focus is on building 'Better Lives, through Better Education', by building and refurbishing schools in some of the most disadvantaged communities in Africa.

The MBA Mellon Educate team are running a series of fundraising events to help get us out there. In addition, I'll be undertaking the Rock Solid challenge, a 10km obstacle course in Sept, where I'll be running, crawling and no doubt crying through it all to help raise funds :)
