Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
On 25th Jul 2017 I suffered cardiac arrest from heart attack during a friendly tennis game with my son and friends from Drummond tennis club. My heart and breathing stopped but I was lucky that the brave people on the photo were there to perform CPR on me for 20 minutes to keep me alive. On my right are Dom and David F who performed CPR and on my left are Gaurav and David H who helped with logistics. We are on the precise spot on the court 2 where it happened a year ago. 3 years earlier and 3 meters nearer the net I crunched my knee ending up doing full ACL reconstruction surgery. Always happy to play there again.
Since then I made full recovery: started a great job in a great company (Avaloq), played bridge for Scotland in European championship (not so well), captained my tennis team to promotion (OK, its just division 6) and acted in a silent movie (premiered in Cameo cinema).
I am forever grateful to my rescuers and hospital staff that looked after me so well. I also learned during my rehab that British Heart Foundation helps with cardiac rehab as well as research into new treatments.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
