Mission Trek Peru · 6 February 2006

Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, we continue to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. We know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, we help to enable the Forces family to thrive.

Story

 Thank you for visiting our  fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online

The team from Rheindahlen consists of ;

Kate Bricknell                     Liz Parker                      Di Burke

Susie Altmeyer -Ennis     Nicola McCarthy.

 We all have service connections one way or another!

On the 1st September we will be flying to Peru for a fundraising 8 day trek in the Andes mountain range.  Each day we will will be trekking between 5 and 10 hours, at altitudes of up to 4,445 meters.

The route will follow relatively remote paths rather than the more popular Inca Trail. The highlight of the trip will be watching the sunrise on the ancient Inca site of Machu Picchu.

We are undertaking this challenge in order to raise sponsorship money for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, or SSAFA for short. SSAFA is a national charity helping serving and ex-servicemen, women and their families, including widows and widowers in need.They provide invaluable help and assistance within the serving and ex-service community. Please log on the SSAFA website to find out more about this marvelous organization. Our target is to raise £22400.00.
