Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I recently lost my very good friend Ian to cancer.  Ian was diagnosed October 2013 and despite various operations and chemo sessions, he was unable to beat it.  Ian really was the life and soul and anyone who met him couldn't help but like him.  He made such an impact in so many lives and has left a massive hole for those who loved him.  Ian was just 32 when he died, no age at all and I want to raise money to support future research into Bowel and Colon Cancers to help others and improve the survival rates.  Bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK, behind lung cancer.  It is very treatable especially if diagnosed at an early stage.

I have chosen to raise money for the The Bobby Moore Fund who are committed to beating bowel cancer in memory of Footballer Bobby Moore. They fund the pioneering work of world-class scientists who aim to one day beat this disease.  To do this I will be taking part in the Spartan Race. This is a 13km+ obstacle race over tricky terrain set to push you to your limits!

Keep an eye on my blog to see how I'm getting on :)
