<p>I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to donate. I have chosen to run The Great South Run for Mind, a charity close to my heart. My brother Simon has suffered from depression for as long as he can remember. Mental illness is a truly horrid illness. You can't physically see it, most people don't understand it and there is sometimes little or no sympathy. I have watched my brother dive deeper and deeper into a black hole over the last few years and it is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and I'm glad to say that now things are improving although the "black dog" will always be there. The strength my brother shows battling his illness never ceases to amaze me!</p> <p>Simon started running back in June and like a fool I agreed to run with him. I swore the last time I ran the Great South Run I'd never do it again but when he suggested it, I thought "Oh bugger it let's give it a go" So here I am. Less than 2 weeks to go and I'm properly scared!! I know however with my baby brother at my side I can achieve anything. I will be channelling my inner Rocky the whole way!! Thanks once again and see you at the finish line!!!</p> <p>Oh and I forgot to say I was thinking of doing this the old fashioned way. Just 50p or &pound;1 per mile is all I ask, or less if you fancy but please don't feel you have to go mental!!! Pun intended!!!</p>
