Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My father is my hero.
On the 6th January 2019, my whole world changed; it was the first worst day of my life. My father passed away after being diagnosed with Nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP) for 15+ years.
Towards the end, walking up the stairs for him felt like a Marathon. I admired his courage and strength to the very end where he passed in St Lukes Hospice.
St Lukes support was amazing, with Jackie his dedicated palliative care team member visiting him to support him regularly for over 5 years. They also provided care and support within the hospice for my family.
My dad was an amazing man, both mentally and physically strong; he once done a London to Brighton cycle without any training; came to this country without even knowing how to speak English to winning numerous awards for electronic engineering and building a life in London.
He had the most joyful laugh and always cracking jokes - I will never forget his laugh. His advise to me use to be “take one day at a time, one step at a time” and I will take that advise into the Marathon; it will truly be an honour doing the London Marathon in my fathers memories!
Please donate so the hospice can help others like they helped my father and my family!
In the mean time have a look at the amazing work they do https://www.stlukes-hospice.org
If you would like to follow my training I record everything on Strava - https://www.strava.com/athletes/6884383
