Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

On the 1st July we will run the British 10k London race in support of the MND Association.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the motor neurones. Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing. Most cases of MND progress quite quickly, with noticeable decline occurring over the course of months. MND is typically fatal within 2-5 years. Around 50% die within 14 months of diagnosis. Most of cases of MND appear sporadic, which means the case appears to have occured with no known cause. Currently there is no cure for MND, but the search for a drug that slows MND progression is underway.

For this reason we would like to support any reasearch we can and we hope you do too.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Motor Neurone Disease Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!
