Story

Last year our wonderful brother, father and son John died from end stage Motor Neurone Disease.  We miss him terribly but are gld he is at peace.

We are looking to do a  walk starting on Thursday 22nd August to fundraise for a vital piece of speech recognition kit which is not available on the  NHS and is quite expensive.

If you fancy giving it some thought and want to join in as a walker or just to help in any way,we would love you to participate.

BRIEF-

The walk itself is along the ancient Essex Way.  The distance is approx 85 miles over 3.5 to 4 days depending. We have mapped the route and will be using GPS and maps to walk over some beautiful Essex countryside and stay at B&Bs for 2 nights and probably the family caravan on the penultimate day before setting off into Harwich to complete the Walk.

We are hoping to raise approx £4000 again for another Tobii Eyegaze.

The previous Tobii bought is in full use by a MNDA sufferer/carer and their family who could not afford it otherwise, and that is down to the generosity and selflessness of our Families, many friends and associates.

Dignity for sufferers of any illness that blocks them from the most basic forms of communication is paramount and there isnt any other piece of equipment that works as well as the Tobii to allow a relationship for the sufferer and their Family and friends to continue for as long as they physically and mentally can, as the mind and the eyes work perfectly well.

In my brothers case he found it difficult towards the end to try and let us and his carer know what he wanted and at times it was very emotionally painful, for him most of all,so he began to decline from interaction

As there is very little subsidy for an item of this cost, we'd like to  continue at any available opportunity to raise the  profile and funds for this equipment so that another person doesn't have to suffer the inability to properly communicate when help can be given through fundraising.

Thanks and please give generously.
