Story
Hello to all!
Firstly, thanks for getting this far!
Before you read about our story we need to ask a quick favour. For those kind enough to donate, please, please, please can we request that you split your donation equally between the two charities. Thus; if you intend to donate £5 (or maybe £50, c'mon I know you've got loads of money) please give £2.50 to each charity as per the links at the bottom. Unfortunately this is the only way we can split the money between the two charities.
Why?
The two charities we are fundraising for are Dementia UK & Thyroid UK.
Without pulling your heartstrings too much, we have both witnessed firsthand the damage these conditions can have upon an individual and those close to them. In fact, these conditions are so common that we will all know people affected, whether you realise it or not.

All donations will go towards helping these incredible causes continue the selfless work they do on behalf of people affected by these conditions.
Us
Those of you who have been lucky enough to know us will know that we have been best buds since the ripe old age of 11.This adventure will mean us getting closer than ever (sometimes too close) as we attempt an epic cycle journey from the very bottom of the UK to the very top (approx. 1000 miles) on a tandem bike (Her name is Valerie and she is yet to complete 20 miles without breaking down, cheers Val).
Our intention is to set up in a compact 1-1 formation. Ben will be responsible for generating the power from behind, such brute force will surely be no match for the Cornish countryside or Scottish Highlands. Chris (as per) will be on the receiving end of such thrust. He constitutes the brains and finesse needed to guide Valerie to the climax. Plus Ben doesn't understand bike gears, bless him...
A wonderfully balanced team I'm sure you'll agree.
When?
We set sail on August 7th. Our voyage will lead us through villages, cities, mountains (large hills to the hardcore) and three different countries! On paper, this adventure should take roughly 17 gruelling days (65 miles a day Avg.), but neither of us know how to change a tyre at the time of writing this, so, who knows really...
Finally
Thank you to everyone who reads, contributes to and embraces this ludicrous adventure, it truly is for two incredible causes.
We are currently in training for the big event, so if you see two clowns in tight and skimpy gear cycling in and around the Midlands area, be sure to give us extra passing room, Valerie doesn't do straight lines!
Lots of love
Ben & Chris
