Story
On the 27th of August 2022 I along with 26 other cyclists will embark on our annual 3 cities challenge to cycle some 350 miles starting from Sarajevo in Bosnia and onto to Nis in Serbia, finishing the ride in Sofia in Bulgaria. This will be by far the most challenging ride for me and the team as we intend to climb over 19,000 ft which is higher than Mount Elbrus (18510 ft) being the highest peak in Europe in just 3 days.
You have always dug deep for the previous challenges I have taken part in, this year I ask you to really make a difference with your support with reversing the leading cause of blindness worldwide.
We aim to provide life changing cataract surgery to the poor and needy in Bangladesh in partnership with BHDI (Bangladesh
Health Development Initiative). A cataract is a medical condition in which the lens of the eye becomes progressively opaque, resulting in blurred and patchy vision. Surgery replaces the defective lens with an artificial lens, thereby restoring the vision of the patient.
For just £50 we can provide life changing cataract surgery
to a patient, including pre-operative assessment and post-operative care with provision of spectacles (if needed). £50 may not sound
like a lot of money but it is beyond the means for many in Bangladesh who we intend to help.
