The charity provides funding and assistance in medical, education and relief of poverty. The charity mainly works in UK, Pakistan, India and Burma. In 2008 RSVP (UK) setup a medical diagnostics clinic in Rander, India to provide the local community with free medical consultations and subsidised medication, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, race, religion or economic status. The centre has gone from strength to strength and is now fully functional hospital and has helped 90,000 people. The hospital employs 23 Doctors, 12 nurses and 1 Hospital Manager, 6 additional staff and supported by volunteers. The hospital currently has specialised Maternity wing and Intensive care unit. In order to continue the good work, we would like to embark on extension project to include Dialysis and Accident & Emergency wing with supporting operation theatres. The cost of this investment is £600,000.

Story

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising awareness and funds for a local U.K. charity called RSVP who run, help and support a number of projects for the under privileged in India.  My contribution towards helping RSVP was to raise money via climbing Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the U.K. at a colossal 4,413 feet tall!

Last Saturday we (a group of 90 people) embarked on a mammoth journey to climb the notorious Ben Nevis in the upper hebredies, Scotland.

This was no easy journey and a number of 1st time things for me.  So the drive to Fort William from London was 13h long with a few stops for gas/food/washrooms etc.

The climb up to the top of Ben Nevis took me 2h45m and you really are tested mentally, physically & emotionally.  You have to be determined, control and moderate your breathing and push on when the pain hits your legs, back and feet, a true test of endurance!

The climb down was just as hard or even harder, you have to focus on every step down on the rocky mountain especially as folks are trying to come up!  Again a huge test on oneself but I did it.

As I mentioned earlier, a number of first’s for me:-

1) Creating this page, never done it before and I wished I had done it before the trek, but better late then never.

2) The trek to the top, what a sense of achievement when you reach the summit.

3) 25h round trip from London to Fort William and back!

I would be very grateful if you would help me support this charity, any donations big or small would be most appreciated.

Thank you
