The thirst that we feel before Iftar for most of us is a pain felt only during Ramadan, for some that is a daily ritual. That's the case for the people of Mogadishu every single day.

This Ramadan I want to raise money for 1000 people to have clean fresh drinking water in Mogadishu in Somalia. 

It costs £75 for 5 people to have fresh clean water to drink

I£15 for 1 person 

and £150 for 10 people.

Give the gift of clean water

Human Appeal is dedicated to long-term solutions to water shortages. Water is about much more than quenching thirst; it is what creates jobs, brings life and it helps vulnerable communities to lift themselves out of poverty.

This project will benefit displaced families by reducing the time they spend fetching water, and by providing water troughs for their livestock. We will also rehabilitate 40 toilets and five ablution points, as well as providing hygiene training, ensuring that the project provides safe, sustainable sources of water that can be maintained for years to come.

£15 – provides access to clean drinking water for one displaced person in Mogadishu.

£75 – provides access to clean drinking water for five displaced people in Mogadishu.

£150 – provides access to clean drinking water for ten displaced people in Mogadishu.

Human Appeal’s work in Somalia

Human Appeal is dedicated to creating sustainable solutions to drought and food insecurity in Somalia. Last year, in the Gedo region, we supported 5,400 people by providing farming families with seeds, tools, training and irrigation pumps in Badera and Luuq. We also rehabilitated 10 wells and 30 latrines in Luuq and Dolow, supporting over 19,000 displaced people who had fled their homes. In Mogadishu we installed 171 latrines to benefit over 6,000 displaced people in the areas of Kahda, Daynile, Baidoa and Dinsoor.
