Story
From our own investigations and research with various agencies on the ground, there are an estimated 600,000 orphans inside Syria; a grim statistic, which is in all likelihood an underestimation. All this points to the stark reality of a lost generation traumatised by unremitting war, with barely any opportunities for education, a collapsed healthcare infrastructure, and more crucially, the loss of family security from the absence of parents who became casualties of the war.
The Centre is based in Reyhanli, near the Syrian Border. The Centre accomodates upto 68 Mothers or carers and 194 Children.
The aim is to sponsor a 100 Orphans via SKT Welfare which operates on a 100%donation policy
The sponsorship Programme at a cost of £240 will incude Food, education, clothing, medication and shelter for the child and will also support single mothers many of whom have had to flee Syria to find themselves as refugees in neighbouring countries
Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate
Al-Hasan said, "I remember a time among the Muslims when their men would shout (to remind their families), 'O family! O family! (Look after) your orphan! Your orphan! O family! O family! (Look after) your orphan! Your poor person! Your poor person! O family! O family! (Look after) your neighbour! Your neighbour!' Time has been swift in taking the best of you while every day you become baser."
